International Red Cross/Red Crescent Day
Flodden Peace & Reconciliation supporters gather together on the banks of the river Till which was forded by English troops preparing for battle nearly 500 years ago. With ingenuity and good humour the river has been forded once more, this time by a rainbow ribbon – a symbol of hope and reconciliation. Afterwards, we met in Crookham village hall for a celebration marking the birthday of Henry Dunant, founder of the International Red Cross Committee.
