A Living Encyclopedia of Sheep
The Glendale Gateway Trust has begun a consultation to take forward aspects of the Sheep Tales and Spinning Yarns project within the Glendale area. The project engages many of the same themes and hopes to take forward some on-going economic regeneration as well as heritage work.
New Year’s Day Flodden Peace Walk
You are invited to the New Year’s Day Flodden Peace Walk
The first event in the 500th Battle Anniversary Commemorations on January 1st 2013: World Peace Day Gather at Crookham Church 11am for introductory tour of Peace Garden Depart for walk at 11.30am Arrive Battlefield Monument 12.30pm for short reflection and BYO refreshments. Return to Crookham Village Hall at approximately 2pm for refreshments All are welcome please bring your friends and relatives for an inspirational walk. For those who feel they could not complete the full 6 mile walk please feel free to meet at any of the above mentioned points. There is a car park close to the memorial, however there is an incline to the monument. Generally moderate to easy walking on paths. Strong boots and warm waterproof clothes recommended.Flodden Peace Centre @ Crookham – Work has begun
The project has now secured £27,000 towards it’s goal of raising £80,000.00. Work has now commenced in the Peace Garden which will be completed December 2012 ready for the 500th anniversary of the battle of Flodden in 2013. Harvest Festival service was celebrated on the 7th October with Flodden 1st BP Scouts and the Crookham Cuckoo singers, after the first 4 days of productive contractors work had begun.

Gamelan Percussion Workshop

Sunday 5th August 1.30 – 7 pm at Crookham URC
Come along and explore this fascinating Indonesian ensemble instruments. The workshop will be working towards a performance during the Cafe Festival in Crookham over the August Bank Holiday. Our expert leader will guide us through this new experience as we create a new work based on the ancient celtic myth of the Cuckoo.
Cost: Likely to be £10 per participant, with reduction for existing members of the Crookham Cuckoo Singers.

United Reformed Church Worship in Chatton is every 1st Sunday in the month at the Village Hall 9.30. Ecumenical worship during the the summer takes place at Holy Cross Church 3rd Sunday in the month at 9.30.
